The APPA, a professional organization for facility managers of educational institutions, has provided a website for schools, community colleges, universities, and teaching hospitals to share best practices on reopening after Covid-19 lockdowns.
The resources are categorized by type of institution and then name of institution. Plans are available for reopening classrooms, housing, dining, athletic facilities, and many other types of spaces. Here is a link to the APPA's website titled Reopening Guidance for Campus Facilities.
As facility managers and administrators struggle to meet the challenges of reopening safely and effectively to help students achieve their goals, these shared plans can help lead the way. APPA members can also login to discuss reopening plans and many other topics in an online forum.
